Classic Di Porchetta - Dean & DeLuca
Posted using ShareThis
This is definately on my wish list. I will have to find out how to make this on my own. This delicasy here is very pricey $850 to be exact. Definately cheaper to try and make on my own.

OMG I cant believe how long it been. Im all but abandoned my blog. With working 3 jobs I can barely think straight. I have enjoyed browing and reading all of the other sewing, knitting, crochet and cooking blogs. When we went on vacation, I seem to have lost my battery charger on my camera and I love that camera. I hope to luck out on Amazon and find a replacement. I have so missed my blog. I hope to start posting again soon!

It's July and time to embark on our summer road trip. It is a great way for us to bond and spend time together. Erica, my oldest came along for the trip. We were traveling to Michigan for Fourth of July gatherings on both sides of the family and to bring my mom home with us. She has taken care of us related or not and now she needs help and it's our pleasure to give it to her. My favorite part of the trip it being on the road, stopping with other families in mini vans, care and trucks with their cargo bags filled to the rim with kids, pillows, coolers, dvd players strapped to headrests and all the other stuff that we take to embark on a long trip. I sure hope that our children carry this wonderful tradition into their lives. We stopped half way there and got a couple hotel rooms and recharged. All in all, the trip was great. We had mini family reunions and great food. Great trip

I received a new catalog from Lion Brand Yarn. There are some great ideas for new projects. Enough to keep me busy while we venture out on our road trip in a couple days! I think I'd better start on my holiday knitting while I'm on vacation. Looking forward to it!

I have all but abandoned my blog for the past few weeks. Working so hard. I havent had time to enjoy my new sewing hobbie. (Which I love) I took this whole weekend off. Something I haven't done in ages. I took in the Jazz Fest in Clearwater and plan on doing nothing but watching TV and relaxing after that. I had a little exhaustion in the sun yesterday but that was remedied when we found a cool spot under a tree and lots of lemonade. The music was wonderful. Wayman Tisdale, Maysa and Eric Darius did their thing!

I have been enjoying my new machine. It's a beginners machine but very powerful. I have begun my first project. It'll probably take a couple of weeks to finish easy. After all, I am a beginner. This is just a stress relieving as knitting. I should really start working on that sewing room; what a mess! (LOL)

I was at home on a rare off day when I discovered that my favorite show, The Tudors has began season 3 on Showtime on Demand. I was so excited. I got comfortable on my favorite spot on the couch, had a wonderful cup of coffee with hazelnut kahlua and whipped cream, and began crocheting. I think that I would like this to become a wrap , perfect for a cool evening concert.

MY BIRTHDAY WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH AND I REALIZED THAT I HADNT MENTIONED IT ON MY BLOG. I SO ENJOY HOW THE OTHER BLOGGERS INVITE EACHOTHER TO SHARE IN HAPPY MOMENTS OF THEIR LIVES. THIS IS WHY I SO ENJOY BLOGGING. I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME ON MY BIRTHDAY I CANT BELIEVE I DIDN'T POST IT. WELL HERE IT IS. A NIGHT AT THE BLUE MARTINI AND DINNER AT THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY WITH OUR GOOD FRIENDS. A GREAT TIME.
AFTER CAREFUL RESEARCH, I HAVE DECIDED UPON THIS JANOME SEWING MACHINE. I HAVE READ A LOT OF GREAT REVIEWS AND HEARD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I GOT THIS MACHINE SUPER CHEAP AND CANT WAIT TO USE IT. HERE'S TO HAPPY SEWING!
I RAN A FEW ERRANDS TODAY. ONE OF WHICH WAS TO LOOK FOR A SEWING MACHINE. TARGET HAD NICE ONES FOR SALE BUT I OPTED WITH OVERSTOCK.COM. I GOT A GREAT REFURBISHED MACHINE FOR ABOUT $55 (SHIPPING INCLUDED). I THINK I WILL BRANCH OUT FROM THERE. I GOT ALL OF MY STUFF TO COMPLETE OUR WEEKEND TASK, PAINTING THE ENCLOSED PORCH. MY HUSBAND'S GONNA LOVE THAT (LOL).I ALSO FOUND THIS GREAT WICKER BIN FOR $10 AT BIG LOTS. PERFECT FOR MY YARN. I ALSO HAVE TO CLEAN THE PANTRY. YEAH ME LOL! THE BIGGEST JOB IS THE YARD. WE HAVE ABOUT 6 CITRUS TREES(ORANGE, GRAPEFRUIT, LEMON/LIME& TANGERINE THAT ALL BEAR FRUIT. WE ARE SO FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE FRESH CITRUS AT HARVEST. I LOVE THEM BUT THEY TAKE OVER THE WHOLE YARD. I THINK WE'LL HAVE TO HIRE LANDSCAPERS TO CLEAN IT UP AND THEN I'LL FIGURE OUT THE REST. HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!!!!

I have been working soooooooooooo hard (2 jobs). I have had to resolve to make time for crafting. I have even gotten interested in sewing. I had a small inexpensive machine for small jobs like hems and repairs. I am currently looking for a full sized machine and am having a ball searching through all of the great choices. I have become more interested in bigger projects. I got two patterns to start with. One is scrubs for work. I can never have too many scrubs and it seemed like the perfect pattern. I also got a pattern for this cute dress. I have the perfect fabric for it. I will try and see if I can get something going with it in time for the annual Jazz Fest in Clearwater in May. I set aside a small space and I am building a workstation. Right now it is in it's infancy. I have gotten great ideas from different blogs. I eventually want to convert our storage room into a sewing room. That will be a big job which I am not ready for yet but I do need a little space to call my own so this will do for now. I can use my dining room table to cut fabric.

Now that we are settled into winter. ( Yes we even had a coldspell here in Florida), hearty meals are often craved. I love to make stews, chili's and casseroles this time of year. Especially when I lived up north. I made this beef stew with a cheap cut of beef, cut and cubed. I cooked the meat first and subsequently adding the veggies in order of the time it takes to cook. Potatoes and carrots take about the same time to cook. Add the veggies when the meat starts to become tender. After you add the veggies, make the gravy by dissolving a little flour in water and add to your stew. If more veggies is what you like then go for it. Be sure and season it to your liking, serve with a green salad and dinner rolls and you've got dinner and leftovers. Enjoy!

I PURCHASED THESE WOOD NEEDLES FROM KNIT PICKS AND JUST NOW GETTING A CHANCE TO USE THEM. THESE NEEDLES ARE WONDERFUL. THE SURFACE IS SMOOTH AND COMFORTABLE AND MAKES KNITTING FLOW COMFORTABLY. I CERTAINLY INTEND TO BUY MORE.

With the holidays behind us all and a new year here full of resolutions. I resolve to enjoy my kitchen more. I have the greatest gadgets and dont use them as often as I'd like to. I have seen a multitude of wonderful recipes on a number of wonderful cooking/food blogs. I plan to try more of them. I found these latest gadgets on the clearance rack. Nothing costed more that 4 bucks. I found a meat mallet, pastry cutter, potato ricer (which I can wait to use) and a collapsable strainer. Lets see what I can cook up with these!
